color inkjet printer cp1160 printer setup installation software for HP Color Inkjet cp1160 USB and PARALLEL (IEEE 1284) Connection: Please note that theinstructions below are for users that will be using a USB or Parallel cable connectionfrom the computer to the printer. Please refer to the CD that came with your hp cp1160 printer for documentation,registration, and additional software. If you have already attempted to install the driver, you must disconnect the interfacecable from the back of the computer. You must also run the Uninstaller from the printerdriver CD included with your printer before you attempt to install this downloaded file.You must also reboot your computer after uninstalling the old driver. To Install: 1. Before you download the driver from the web, create the directory on your hard drive:c:cp1160. 2. Download the exe file to c:cp1160. 3. Double-click on the .exe you downloaded. It will expand showing a directory named"Extract" 4. hp cp1160 setup wizard screen will show up. 5. Click Next button twice. 6. ‘hp software license agreement’ screen will show up. Click Yes. 7. If printer is connected to parallel, USB or IR, Select "Connected to thiscomputer". Then click Next. 8. Select Port (Parallel, USB or other) then click Next 9. Files will be copied. 10. In the completing windows, click Finish. To Uninstall: Run the HP uninstaller, uninstal.exe, from the c:cp1160extract folder. Network Connection: Please note that the instructions below are for usersthat will be using a NETWORK connection from the computer to the printer. Please refer to the CD that came with your hp cp1160 printer for documentation,registration, and additional software. To Install: 1. Before you download the driver from the web, create a new directory on your hard drive,c:cp1160. 2. Download the driver to the newly created c:cp1160 folder. 3. Open the c:cp1160 folder and double-click the "exe" file you justdownloaded. This will extract the files to a directory named "extract" andlaunch the hp cp1160 installer. 4. If the hp cp1160 installer does not automatically launch, run setup.exe from thec:cp1160extract folder. 5. The Welcome screen appears, click next 6. HP software License Agreement appears, click yes 7. The Type of Connection screen appears, Choose "Connected to the Network" 8. The Network Setup screen appears, choose appropriate type of Network Connection. 9. Follow the instructions on the installer screens. 10. Windows will now install the driver files. WAIT for it to finish. 11. A "Your hp cp 1160 printer has been successfully installed." screen will bedisplayed. From this screen you may chose to print a test page. To complete theinstallation, click Finish. To Uninstall: Run the HP uninstaller, uninstal.exe, from the c:cp1160extract folder. Compatible devices: C6436A, C6436C
